RALEIGH CONVENTION CENTER
Opened in 2008, The Raleigh Convention Center is an innovative three-level 500,000-square-foot state-of-the-art facility. It is best known for it's public art piece called the 'Shimmer Wall' that contains metal plates in the form of an oak tree backed by LED lights to represent Raleigh's nickname, the 'City of Oaks'.
The Raleigh Convention Center, the Red Hat Amphitheater and the Progress Energy Center for the Performing Arts are all within steps of one another, blending entertainment and convenience for convention goers and weekend visitors alike.
